At the entrance to the Massif des Bauges Geopark, Hotel Blanc is a perfect holiday spot for enjoying the natural park’s large preserved spaces. From the foothill vineyards of the Isère valley to the Upper Bauges, passing by Lake Annecy, be astounded by the contrasting countryside of the park. With steep cliffs, large valleys, green prairies, dense forests and wild rivers, you’ll be surprised and impressed. Ideal for fresh air and fun activities (including hiking, skiing, free flight, climbing and canyoning), the park also offers you the chance to discover a rich gastronomical heritage, with cheese (Tome des Bauges, Reblochon, Abondance), charcuterie, wine (Mondeuse, Chignin-Bergeron, Roussette), honey and aromatic and medicinal plants.

Hiking
With over 500 km of marked footpaths, the Massif des Bauges is a true paradise for lovers of hiking. To discover the different aspects of its natural heritage, you can enjoy numerous themed trails, including the Tannes et Glacières trail, the Pelouses Sèches du Mont Saint-Michel route and the Tourbière des Creusates. If you’re more into cycling, enjoy the numerous cycle paths or, if you’re more courageous, follow the 20th stage of the 100th Tour de France between Annecy and Semnoz.
The peaks
On your walks, enjoy the rocky ridges that open up like a balcony over the horizon and provide magnificent views over neighbouring mountain ranges (Chartreuse, Belledonne, Aravis) as well as of the highest peaks of the Bauges. Reaching 2217 m, the Arcalod is the highest of them and ascending it makes for a great spot of hiking. The same can be said for the Pécloz (2197 m) and the Trélod (2181 m), one of few peaks over 2000 m that is relatively easy to scale.
